There are some gorgeous illustrated titles for kids of pre-school or primary school age. Whether for early readers or young listeners, it's all about a transporting tale, maybe with a few scares along the way, until an ultimately comforting resolution... or, surprising or silly, or affirmative of being in some way a bit different... or all of those things in turn.
